Obsessed! My New Dimmable Hexagonal Garage Lights Are Insane!

A man stands in a garage looking up at bright, hexagonal LED lights installed on the ceiling. Text overlays read "Tips Tools why these" and "Amazon hex lighting." A blue car is parked to the left.

Okay, let’s be real. My garage lighting was… functional. And that’s about the nicest thing I could say about it. It did the job, but it definitely wasn’t inspiring, and there were always those annoying dark spots, especially when I was trying to get a good look at my BMW. Sound familiar? Well, I finally decided to do something about it, and let me tell you, the upgrade has been a GAME CHANGER.

I stumbled upon these insane hexagonal LED light kits, and the moment I saw them, I knew they were destined for my three-bay garage. Fortunately, Amazon seller Feruerw was kind enough to send me a set as part of my Garage Makeover series. I started with one bay, right over where my Bimmer usually sits, thinking if it went well, I’d deck out the other side by the Viper too.

The unboxing itself was pretty exciting – all those light tubes, connectors, and mounting bits just waiting to be assembled. But before I even thought about drilling a single hole, I laid everything out on the floor. ProTip #1 -Trust me on this, planning is your best friend with a project like this. I wanted to make sure the pattern was symmetrical and positioned just right – closer to the interior wall so the open garage door wouldn’t hide my new glorious lighting.

Now, for Pro-Tip #2 – that saved my sanity: lasers! Seriously. I used lasers to get those lines perfectly parallel and centered on the ceiling. It made aligning everything a breeze. Pro-Tip #3- here’s another little hack I’m pretty proud of – I used 1.5-inch PEX tubing as spacers to give the lights a slight drop-down effect. It not only looks cool, creating a neat shadow, but it also helped hide some wiring and navigate around those pesky garage door opener brackets.

I did end up putting another set over by the Viper, but I decided against doubling up on that side (which was my original idea). Honestly, these things are BRIGHT, and I was a little worried about overwhelming the space (and maybe my circuit breaker!). The best part? They’re dimmable! A quick flick of the switch cycles through bright, medium, and low modes – a feature I specifically hunted for.

The difference is incredible. The garage looks amazing, the cars practically glow, and those annoying dark spots are a thing of the past. If you’re thinking about a lighting upgrade, you HAVE to check these out. I’ll be dropping some links to the lights and the laser level I used in the video description, so definitely take a peek.

My garage isn’t just a place to park cars anymore; it’s a showroom!
