My wife and I set off on our first cruise back in 1994 for our honeymoon. In recent years we have begun sailing again (now with kids) and it is simply amazing how far the industry has come. After having many fantastic adventures with Carnival Cruise lines, my family and I decided to mix it up just for grins and try out Norwegian. Our ship of choice was the Norwegian Escape, and you can expect I will be posting an epic vacation video in the near future. But, for now I wanted to share something that most people think of as soon as they hear the word “cruise” ……… and that’s food! One thing I can say for certain is that the cruise ship food has come along way since 1994. This particular ship had choices ranging from the typical buffet, Japanese steak house, French Bistro, Brazilian steakhouse, traditional steakhouse, Irish pub, gastro pub, brew house, Italian Cucina, Mexican, and so much more. Stepping off the ship left me feeling several pounds overweight, but the grind to work it off is well worth it. I devoured everything from porterhouse steaks (my favorite), Japanese, sushi, burgers, wings, and pasta and not one bite was bad. If you have a chance to step foot onto one of these huge floating malls I would tell you to run – don’t walk. And though it’s far from boring, venture beyond the buffet and try something you may not get back at the house! Enjoy a little taste of vacation below, and share comments on the best cruise dining you’ve experienced!
