I saw this quote the other day and it really stuck with me. Fact is, that you control the outcome of anything in your life. We may want to believe that bad things happen which we didn’t choose – and would never choose – well that’s true, and we can’t control that. What you can control is how you react to them. Did you sulk in the corner and cover yourself in woe is me? OR – did you come out fighting like a cornered animal? I’m always amazed at people who have been dealt the worst hand in life yet rise to the top because they refuse to take no for an answer. Or those that refuse to allow a doctor to tell them what “they will never be able to do.” Just yesterday I watched a clip of a soldier who lost both legs. He didn’t give up on his world- even though that’s what a lot of us may do. Instead, he set a bench press record. And- not a special record for only people with physical challenges- the same record that you and I didn’t win! Bottom line is, each and every day contains 24 hours that we will never get back. You choose how each hour, minute, and second are spent. You choose to be spiteful, angry, mean, complaining, lazy, fat, poor, loving, charitable, kind, nurturing, energetic, fit, a champion of change. Not always easy decisions in moments where times are testing us. But, if we could somehow take one of those seconds to step back and decide how we would like our book to be written, I think we would all choose the later part of that list. Friends – I hope you have the opportunity to write an amazing book this year filled with adventures and opportunities you could only dream of…. make it a best seller. And as Zig Ziglar would always say “Today is a brand new day, and it’s yours”
