Yesterday morning started early like all the others. Just like usual, I did my normal stop at Weigels (local convenient store) to grab a 24 oz coffee to kick off my day. As I pulled in, a big F350 dually parked right next to me,and I noticed a hulk of a man get out. He wasn’t fat, just incredibly tall, wearing boots, jeans and a flannel. He fit the mold of a contractor that could rip a toaster in half with his teeth. We both walked in without saying a word, and both grabbed cups of coffee. We ended up at the register at the same time as well, with him right in front of me. As he walked out the door, and I walked to the counter, the woman at the register told me that he had just paid for my coffee. I was shocked….. I have friends that do this on a regular basis (Jim Koza) – but it has never happened to me. I walked to the door and gave him a big thumbs up just as he was backing out, and he waved. I don’t know why, but that $1.52 cup of coffee made my day. My point is this – a simple “hello”, “thank you”, or cup of coffee, can change a person’s whole outlook on the day. That in turn could trickle down on how they behave at work, at home, with their wife, or with their kids. How hard is it really to just be kind to each other? Please consider this post as my cup of coffee to you…. I appreciate you, I thank you for reading, and I hope you go out and pay it forward. Much love – Mike
